Angels and Demons- Book Review πŸ“š

Hello world!

How’s everyone doing? It’s really been a while since I last spoke with ya’ll… I think that whenever I say “oh, I’ll be posting regularly now!” it’s just never happens. So from now on, no more promises. I’ll try to keep on posting as much as I can! I love writing so much so don’t worry, I’m not going to stop anytime soon. Anyway, for today’s blog I’m back with another book review! This time it’s on “Angels and Demons”, by Dan Brown. I actually bought this book while I was on a fun day with my mum in Tel Aviv! I shared that with you guys, and told you that after I’m done reading it, I’ll post an update with my review and thoughts. So here it is!

I’ll start off by saying that I’ve heard a lot of good things about Dan Brown’s work- my mum read almost all of his books, so I think that during my childhood seeing his name written over so many books in our living room library kind of got me into the mood.

“Angels and Demons” is a book in which there are many perspectives and storylines going on at the same time, and by the end of it they all come together and become one. I love these types of books, and Brown made it very simple for the reader to follow without getting lost. The main point of view is Robert Langdon’s, a Harvard professor, that one day is asked to identify a weird symbol on a dead scientist’s chest. He quickly realizes that the symbol belongs to the secret brotherhood “Illuminati”. The Illuminati was a known enemy of the Catholic church, and soon enough Robert finds himself stuck in a dangerous and deadly battle between science and religion.

That’s all I can say without giving the whole book and plotline away- I’m going to try and keep this review as spoiler less as possible.

I think that it’s best to firstly get this out of the way- it is truly a great book. It has so many twists and surprises within it, and just as you think that you know what’s going on, you find out that you really don’t. It is the kind of book that will keep you wanting to know more- you could definitely binge read it. A specific thing that I loved about the book is how educational it is. Everything but the plotline is real- every place or fact. I loved how smart the book makes you feel while reading it- you get educated on the history of Rome, the Vatican, the Catholic church, certain artists, science, and more! It is well written, in a way that is easy to understand and take in without confusing or mixing things up.

Most of the characters are smart and good at decision making in my opinion, which always makes the book more interesting and easy to relate to- they’re not being stupid or doing dumb things just to mess the plot up- they’re always making the most realistic choices, and that for sure helps make the book more interesting and intriguing as the characters are acting exactly as they should.

Besides being a very good book, with a very good plotline, there were two main things that kind of bothered me while I was reading. It’s something that I would like to know before reading a book- maybe it’s the feminist in me, but it’s important to mention in my opinion. The first one being the fact that there were about three “active” female characters in the whole book. Sure, we’re told a bit about Saint Maria, or other Christian saints, but apart from that there are three. The first one, Maria, that’s dead, and we only barely see her in “flashbacks”, another one, Chinita Macri, that literally only exists to put her male co- worker in a better light, and Vittoria Vetra, the other main character, which I would elaborate on more in a minute. There are a few other female characters that are being shown every now and then, but I’m pretty sure that those are the only female characters that have names, and are being talked about or with more than once or twice. The underrepresentation of women in the book really annoyed and angered me at times while reading it, and even though I know that this book was written a while ago (May 2000, to be exact) I still think that more women could’ve been part of the plotline.

The second thing that bothered me, again looking at the book from a more of a feminist perspective, is Vittoria Vetra’s character. Vittoria is supposed to be a smart scientist, who’s also very connected to her religion and God. However, at times while reading I noticed that she doesn’t act like a woman at all- of course, there isn’t a way that a woman should be acting, but still- after been through so much trauma, after loosing so much- the first thing she does is throw herself at the closest man possible. When her body was about to be violated by someone else, without her consent, all she did was “have fire in her eyes”, whatever that means. I get that different people act differently in certain situations, but for me, it really felt as if the person who came up with her character never spoke to a real woman before. It seemed like she was written based off a fantasy or a very strong stereotype. Adding that to the fact that she was the only “main” woman character in the book, I found it quite disappointing. While reading the book, I felt like instead of empowering women, Vittoria’s character only strengthen the stereotypes surrounding them.

To conclude everything up- I loved the book. Truly. I would definitely look forward to reading more books by Dan Brown, and maybe even re-read “Angels and Demons” some time as well. I would recommend this book to anyone who’s interesting in learning in a unique and interesting way, as well as anyone who loves adventures and thriller. However, this book isn’t perfect, and the underrepresentation of women, as well as the way they’re described in the book bothered me.

I really hope that you enjoyed reading this review, and that I’m getting better at it! Usually I’d like to give more of my opinion on the storyline, but in “Angels and Demons” there are so many plot twists, that I wouldn’t be able to do it without giving the whole book away.

If you’d like to buy the book, you can get it right here

Thanks so much for reading, if you made it this far- I appreciate it! If you’ve already read the book, let me know what are your thoughts on it! Do you agree with mine? What are books that you’d recommend? Make sure to drink tons of water, and take care of your physical and mental health. And wear a mask! The pandemic isn’t over just yet!

See you soon, and take care!

My Thoughts on Taylor Swift’s “evermore” πŸ‚

Hello world!

How have you all been. I’ve been good, I’ve taken the second dose of the vaccine a few days ago, and my shoulder is completely numb. But I’m good! I also lowkey realized that my blog basically became a baking blog or something, so expect some random stories and stuff, I really missed writing those type of blogs! But anyways. Taylor Swift’s 9th studio album, evermore, came out more then a month ago. When it came out I wrote a blog of my first impression of it, and in that blog I said that in one month I’d write my thoughts on it after listening to it more thoroughly. And here it is! Let me know what you think about the album, and if you agree with my opinions of it.

willow

willow is the first track on the album. When I first heard it, and I wasn’t too familiar with the album, it used to be one of my favorites. Now? not so much. It’s good, I love it and know it by heart and would die to be able to scream the words in a concert some day, but I feel like I’ve heard it way too many times on all kinds of different apps that it’s just not my favorite. It’s usually what happens to singles from all albums, but it didn’t happened to me with cardigan, the single from her 8th studio album, folklore. To conclude, love it, but isn’t my favorite. My favorite line from the song is “wreck my plans, that’s my man”.

champagne problems

OMG LOVE LOVE LOVE. From the very beginning this one was a favorite, but it just keep getting better and better. I love this song so much, and even though it’s lyrically sad, for some reason I keep finding myself screaming and singing this song incredibly loudly in front of my mirror(ball). I love it! So so much. There’s nothing else to add except for that lmao. My favorite line from the song is the entire bridge, which is amazing, but especially the part where she says “what a shame she’s fucked in the head”. Obviously.

gold rush

This song is so incredible, and again, just like champagne problems, it just keeps getting better. It’s so satisfying for some reason? Like I feel like it’s the perfect song to ice skate to or to dance to. It’s just so nice! I love it. My favorite part is when she says “with your hair falling into place like dominos”.

’tis the damn season

When I first heard ’tis the damn season I wasn’t sure that I really liked it, I thought that it was okay-ish. But now I really like it! The more I listen to it, the better it gets. I definitely need to keep on playing it in order to get used to it πŸ™‚ My favorite lines are “but if it’s okay with you, it’s okay with me” and “but if it’s all the same to you, it’s the same to me”.

tolerate it

This is track number five, therefore it’s quite emotional and deep. I love tolerate it, but it’s also a “skip” for me in a way. Even though I love the music and the lyrics, it’s sometimes a bit heavy if you know what I mean. I think that this is a really relatable song, and in a way, we all have someone who “tolerates” us. Someone who doesn’t give us the same love and energy we give them. So, even though this song is so freaking beautiful, I often skip it when listening to the album as it’s really emotional and deep. My favorite lines from this song are “use my best colors for your portrait”, “I know my love should be celebrated… but you tolerate it” and “If it’s all in my head, tell me now”.

no body, no crime (feat. HAIM)

OH MY GOSH I LOVE THIS SONG. From the very first time that I heard it, and until today, I still feel the same- this song is freaking incredible. I love true crime, I love Taylor Swift… This is definitely a win for me! I really love HAIM’s voices as well, they’re so talented. I love listening to this song, and when I do I feel like a badass. My favorite part is the whole song, but if I had to choose just a few lines they’ll be: “that ain’t my Merlot on his mouth, that ain’t my jewelry on our joint account”, “she was with me, dude”, “good thing his mistress took out a big life insurance policy”, and “they think she did it, but they just can’t prove it, she thinks I did it, but she just can’t prove it”.

happiness

This song is another kind of a skip for me… Unlike tolerate it, I just don’t feel too connected or feel like I relate to this song too much. So it just became a sad song, one that I can’t relate to. So I usually skip it (still though I know it by heart and all lmao). My favorite lines are: “honey, when I’m above the trees, I see this for what it is”, “tell me, when did your winning smile begin to look like a smirk?”, and “all you want from me now is the green light of forgiveness… You haven’t met the new me yet, and I think she’ll give you that”.

dorothea

HEY HEY DOROTHEA lol I love this song so much! I remember not 100% understanding this song at first, but honestly I don’t think that I’ll ever fully understand any song. However, I love this song quite a lot, and feel like I could be a good friend of the speaker and their lover. I love the lyrics as well as the music and sounds, and it all really is quite magical in my opinion. It also reminds me of myself and my friend, for some reason. My favorite lines are: “and I got nothing but well wishes for ya”, “the stars in your eyes shined brighter in Tupelo”, “you’rΠ΅ a queen sellin’ dreams, sellin’ makeup and magazines, from you, I’d buy anything” and “but are you still the same soul I met under the bleachers? Well, I guess I’ll never know, and you’ll go on with the show”.

coney island (feat. The National)

Okay okay hear me out… I actually don’t love this song, and for a long time I used to always skip it and quite disliked it. HOWEVER, the more that I actually listen to it, the better it gets? I’m slowly learning to like and appreciate this song. I currently still don’t have favorite lines, as I truly used to skip this one lmao.

ivy

I never skipped this one, but it’s quite far near the end so I didn’t get to hear it as much when listening to the whole album- I never reached that far into the album. However I love it a lot and try my hardest to listen to it more and more. I like the music and lyrics quite a lot though! πŸ™‚ My favorite lines from this song are “oh, goddamn”, “my pain fits in the palm of your freezing hand, taking mine, but it’s been promised to another”, and “it’s the goddamn fight of my life, and you started it”.

cowboy like me

Oh my god I love this song so much ahhh it reminds me of Jess Mariano from Gilmore Girls. It’s so good!! I feel super ~mysterious~ while listening to it. I love the lyrics so much as well as the music and Taylor’s voice in this one. My favorite lines are: “and you asked me to dance but I said, “Dancin’ is a dangerous game””, “I’ve got some tricks up my sleeve”, “you had some tricks up your sleeve”, “now you hang from my lips like the Gardens of Babylon, with your boots beneath my bed, forever is the sweetest con “. (I just looked up what “Gardens of Babylon” meant… guess who’s tearing up in the middle of her biology class).

long story short

wowow love this song so much! Like I said last time, at first I thought that this was another song from August’s point of view, but it probably isn’t. Either way, I get Lover/reputation vibes from this song! It’s super fun and happy and I truly love it. I find this song quite loud, yet soft in a way. ANYWAYS here are my favorite lines: “actually, I always felt I must look better in the rear view”, “and we live in peace, but if someone comes at us, this time, I’m ready”, “no more keepin’ score, now I just keep you warm”, “past me, I wanna tell you not to get lost in these petty things”, “and he feels like home, if the shoe fits, walk in it everywhere you go” and lastly, “long story short, I survived”.

marjorie

This is such a sad song. In her eighth studio album, folklore, the 13th track is about Taylor’s grandfather. So in evermore, Taylor decided to dedicate her 13th track to her grandmother, Marjorie. This song is super sad, and hits hard. I honestly sometimes skip it as well, just because of how sad it is. My favorite part is when Taylor says “and if I didn’t know better, I’d think you were singing to me now” and then you can hear old recording of Taylor’s grandmother singing (she used to be on opera singer). This is super sad, and touching. This song gives me the chills every single time I listen to it. I would love it if Taylor Nation would restock the evermore vinyl on her store, because this would probably be the most emotional song to here played on a record player.

closure

When I first heard closure I used to laugh, because at the beginning it sounds like Taylor is playing around in her kitchen, making the sounds with her pots and pans. However, I’m a dedicated swiftie and I listened to it over and over and over again until I got used to it. Now I actually love it, and appreciate it for what it is! Yes, this obviously isn’t my favorite song, but it’s not bad. I like it πŸ™‚ My favorite lines from the songs are: “yes, I got your letter, yes, I’m doing better”, and “I’m fine with my spite, and my tears, and my beers and my candles”.

evermore (feat. Bon Iver)

Since this is the last song, I rarely get to hear it when I’m listening to the whole album. And honestly I’m not sure what I think of this one. I like it, but not a lot. I mean, after loving exile to death, I expected something a bit different knowing Taylor and Bon Iver’s voice dynamic. I’m still getting used to hearing Taylor singing the lower part, and Bon Iver singing the higher! It’s a great song though, and overall I really like it. My favorite lines from the song are: “I rewind thΠ΅ tape, but all it does is pause” and “gray November, I’ve been down since July”.

Other than that, Taylor also recently released the deluxe version, which has to bonus tracks on it. I still don’t know the tracks well enough in order to give an opinion on it, so I guess that I’ll wait with that! Hope that that’s okay with you πŸ™‚

But yeah, other than that I’m finished! I hope that you enjoyed reading my blog. Thank you for choosing to do so! I really appreciate that. Love you always, take a good care of your physical and mental health. Don’t forget to drink tons of water! See you next time.

How To Make Coconut Cookies! πŸ₯₯

Hello world!

How’s everyone? πŸ™‚ I’m finally posting regularly, every Sunday and Thursday, which is great! Also my mum is doing a lot better, turns out that she simply felt a bit ill after taking the vaccine. I’ve also been able to volunteer a lot more, and BAKE! so yesterday I made some really good and sweet coconut cookies, and I wanted to share the recipe with you! The cookies took me about 30-40 minutes to make, including waiting for the cookies to bake in the oven. It’s probably the easiest recipe I’ve ever followed, and I took it out of an old book in Hebrew which my grandpa got me back in 2010 lol. You can get the book right here.

Ingredients-

  • 200g powdered sugar
  • 200g ground/shredded coconut
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 tablespoons cooking oil

Step one-

Take all of the ingredients, and mix everything together in a bowl. Then, take a baking tray and place a piece of parchment paper on it. Make small balls out of your mixed ingredients, and place the balls on the baking tray. Take a spoon (or your hands) and gently press the balls and flatten them. Make sure to leave some space between the cookies, because they will spread out in the oven!

Step two-

Place the tray in a pre-heated oven (about 150C) and wait for about 10-15 minutes! Then take the cookies out of the oven, let them cool down for some time and that’s it! Enjoy eating them πŸ™‚

And that’s it you guys! Thank you so so much for reading! Let me know if you end up making these cookies, I’d love to know! Also thank you so much for 50+ followers, that’s insane. That’s more than the amount of students in my class lol. CRAZY. Thank you! Drink lots of water, treat yourself and stay safe! I love you and am proud and thankful for you! See you next Sunday!

AliExpress- Earrings Haul! πŸ’

Hello world!

Happy 2021! How have you all been? I hope that all is well. I don’t really have many updates! Since the last blog, my country went into a third lockdown, so I haven’t gotten the chance to see my friends or family. I did get the vaccine though! Only once, I’m supposed to go in to get the second time in a few weeks. My mum haven’t been feeling too well lately, so I really really hope that it’s just the flu. ANYWAY! In today’s blog I wanted to share a small haul- earrings from AliExpress! I’ve really been into crazy, big, funny earrings lately, so here are some that I’ve gotten over the past few months. Press on the “name” of the earring in order to open the link to buy it πŸ™‚ Also, I literally get paid nothing to say or do any of this. I genuinely love these earrings.

Water tank earringsThese are so cute! They took 2-3 weeks to arrive. They’re a bit big, and also they’re not perfect- the paint isn’t 100% great, but alas I really love them, especially considering how cheap they were. They cost 1.70$, shipping is free.

Piano earrings– These are one of my favorites. Again, they’re a bit big and heavy, the paint isn’t too perfect but for some reason it makes me love them even more? They just looked super vintage and old, which I like. They cost 1.70$, shipping is free.

Flower earrings– One of my favorite earrings, again. They’re from a different store, so I feel like they’re also a bit better in their quality. They also cost a tiny bit more though! They cost 2.03$, shipping is free.

Dice earrings– They might be my favorites. The quality is really really good, especially considering the price. They are quite light, even though they look a bit big. I love them so much! They cost 1.36$, shipping is free.

Mushroom earrings– I keep saying this, but those earrings are super cute. Again, the paint isn’t perfect, but still I feel like it makes them look special anyway. I currently love mushrooms and that whole aesthetic, so I was really happy when I found these! They cost 1.83$, shipping is free.

Loops earrings– OKAYY so I actually expected the loops to be a bit smaller, so I’m not sure how much I love these! They’re quite big, and I feel like I would love to wear them when I feel like dressing up as if I were a mum in the 60’s lol. If you’re looking for big hoops though then they’re great. They cost 1.17$, shipping to Israel is 1.18$.

Vintage angel earrings– They’re so cute! Probably the ones that I got most compliments on! About two of my teachers asked me to see them during zoom class. They’re bigger than expected, but alas they are super cheap and the quality is great for the price. They cost 1.36$, shipping to Israel is 0.26$.

Gummy bear earrings– I don’t have a lot to say about these earrings, I think that they’re really great! They’re kind of basic, but I think that they’re great especially considering how affordable they are. They cost 0.99$, shipping to Israel is 1.04$.

Cherry earrings– I love them! I am actually wearing the earring right now. I bought them because it reminded me of Harry Styles’ song, Cherry, which I love! The earrings are kind of big, and they are a little bit heavier compared to the other earrings that I got from the same store. But still they are freaking amazing and I love them. They cost 2.49$, the shipping is free.

Fan earrings– They’re really cute! The painting isn’t perfect, again, but I just found out that they’re handmade, so considering that and the price I think they’re totally worth it. They cost 1.60$, the shipping is free.

Dinosaurs earrings– They’re amazing! SO cute! I really love how small they are- compared to the rest of the earrings that I shared with you today. They’re super light, and they look really great. They remind me of the “dinosaurs eating people” song, and I bought them before I found the song on Tiktok so I feel like I won lol. They cost 2.11$, the shipping is free.

Butterfly earrings– I bought these a while ago, and when I first received them I was lowkey disappointed. They aren’t as pretty as they look on the picture on AliExpress, but after some time I got used to them and am now considering buying another pair in a different color. They cost 1.67$, the shipping is free.

And that’s it for today! πŸ™‚

I hope that your 2021 will be much better then 2020! If you end up buying any of the earrings, let me know what you think of them! I’m pretty sure that if you use a few of my links you could get a discount, or at least that’s what it said when I copied them off the website. BUT ANYWAY. I also want to mention that if you have the ability to buy earrings from better shops, such as small businesses, it’s always better. This blog is just to show you some stuff that you can get if you don’t have the ability to afford buying from a small business. Take care of yourself, WEAR A MASK! and drink water.

Christmas Tree Farm Cake πŸŒ²πŸŒ²

Hello world! Happy new year!!!

Hey guys! So…. After my terrible attempt at blogmas went completely wrong, I decided to just post now some of the blogs that I’ve already wrote/ planned (like this one) and move on! I’m excited for the future. Anyhow! I decided to make another Taylor Swift related post, and share with you how I made a Christmas cake inspired by Taylor’s Christmas song, Christmas Tree Farm!! I used my mum’s recipe, so it turned out really well. Enjoy!

Ingredients:

(for the cake)

  • 6 eggs
  • 1 1/2 cups of sugar
  • 1 bag of vanilla extract powder (100g)
  • 1 1/2 cups of self-raising flour
  • 1/4 cup oil
  • 1/2 cups orange juice

(for the icing) by CupcakeJemma

  • 150g unsalted butter, soft
  • 340g icing sugar, sifted
  • 3-4 tbsp whole milk/milk infusion/juice/other liquid

Step one-

Pre- heat the oven to about 180C. Separate the egg whites from the yolks. Put the yolks on the side in a small bowl, you’ll need it later. Put the egg whites inside of the mixer, and add the sugar. Mix it, until it looks something like this.

Step two-

Now, slowly but surely add the rest of the ingredients (including the egg yolks), while still mixing. It should take a few minutes, mix everything until all of the ingredients blend with each other. Mine turned out looking something like this (see picture). Afterwards pour your mix into a rounded tray (you can use a different shape if you’d like of course, obviously it won’t change the cake in any way lol). You can pick up the tray and gently drop it or tap it in order to release air bubbles. Mine wouldn’t go away and the cake still turned out fine so don’t worry about it too much πŸ™‚

Step Three-

Take your tray and place it in the pre-heated oven for at least 20 minutes. Wait until the cake looks golden, and poke it with a butter knife or a toothpick to see that it’s ready. Mine ended up looking like this.

Step four-

OKAY, now your cake is ready! You can let it cool down and leave it as it is, or continue to decorate it with me. I left it to cool down for about 30-40 minutes , and in the meantime made my icing. I followed CupcakeJemma‘s recipe. Basically take the butter and mix it until it’s all fluffy and about twice its’ size. Then, slowly add the icing sugar, a little bit at a time, while still mixing. If needed, add a bit of milk until everything looks like you’d want it to. It should be looking like this.

Step five-

Now, decorate it!! You can do whatever you want. Because I’m making a “Christmas Tree Farm” inspired cake, I used green and red food coloring to color some of the icing, while leaving some white icing in a different bowl. Then, I leveled the cake until I was satisfied with it, and covered it with white icing.

Step six-

Now I simply decorated the cake- I took the green icing and drew big pine trees using a toothpick. I then wrote on the cake “Christmas Tree Farm” using the red food coloring. The cake is delicious, and so is the icing, so even though it ended up looking funny I really liked it- and so did my family! I hope you enjoy / enjoyed making your version of this cake as well :))

AND THAT’S IT!

Happy new year everybody! I had the best time ever with you this month, and this year. I’m really happy with how this blog has done this year. I’d like to thank you all so much for everything! <33 TAKE CARE OF YOURSELF! If you go out to celebrate, take a mask! Wear it! Drink water! I love you, you’re doing amazing.

Toodles! See you in 2021!! πŸ₯‚

Netflix Shows Recommendations

Hello world, and welcome to blogmas day sixteen!

How have you all been? I hope that all is well! Not a lot changed since yesterday… My friend came over and we watched some TV and made pasta! Also I finally finished reading Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets. But that’s about it πŸ™‚ Since 2020 was a wild year, in which we all stayed inside for quite a while, I bet that most people ended up spending a lot of time on streaming websites and apps. One of the most popular one is Netflix, so that’s the one I’ll be talking about today. We don’t really know for how long we’re gonna stay inside for, so I decided to share with you my top favorite shows on Netflix from this year! So here they are, in no particular order πŸ™‚

YOU

The show You is following a guy named Joe, who at first seems like a normal person- he’s working in an old book shop, he’s super nice, good looking, funny, smart… Until he meets a girl named Beck. When Beck enters his little book shop, Joe talks to her and ends up developing a crush. However, soon enough that little friendly crush turns into an obsession- Joe does everything in his power to keep Beck safe and close to him, even if it means going completely out of line and doing things most people would not do. The show You is portraying a story line of one big true crime case, through the killer and the stalker’s’ eyes.

I really love true crime, so I immediately loved the show. Obviously, it’s not a real story, but it sure is an interesting one. I found myself confused quite a lot while watching the show. On one hand, there’s Joe- the main character, the one you’re rooting for. On the other hand, it’s pretty clear that Joe isn’t a good guy, that he isn’t someone that you should be rooting for. But then again, the show is from his point of view… It’s all very confusing and interesting. I really liked how smart and complicated yet easy to follow the story line is, even though sometimes I think that Joe is a complete idiot. In conclusion, the show You is a great show, especially if you like true crime. It’s going by fast, and you find yourself half way done before even realizing that you even started.

Brooklyn 99 is a show that portrays the every day life of the police officers in the 99th Precinct in Brooklyn in a comedic way. The show is fictional, so it’s not actually real officers and all, but it is quite funny. Every character has their own issues and problems, so seeing everyone together is quite interesting and funny. I don’t really have a lot to say about this show, except for the fact that it’s funny, serious at times, and definitely interesting. I loved how they covered in it many important issues with a touch of humor. Brooklyn 99 is such a great show, and I would recommend it to literally anyone.

How I Met Your Mother

The show How I Met Your Mother is about Ted Mosby, a father to two, who’s telling his kids the story of how he met their mother (obvious much?). However, instead of having a 5 minutes conversion about the matter, Ted spreads out the story onto 9 seasons, telling his kids all about the mistakes, the relationships and friendships that he experienced as a young man living with his friends in New York. The show reminded me quite a lot of Friends, yet, for some reason (don’t kill me) I liked it even more. I feel like apart from the humor, this show has some sense of seriousness to it, and you can’t help but fall in love with the characters and their stories. I found myself relating to every single character in one way or the other, laughing at their jokes and crying when they were sad. This show is also a good representation of how the journey is more important then the final destination (as the ending sucked in my opinion).

I would really recommend watching How I Met Your Mother if you’re looking for a show to binge watch, or the other way around- a show with short episodes that you can watch every now and then. It’s fantastic.

FRIENDS

Moving right along How I Met Your Mother, a very similar show is Friends. Friends is a show following a bunch of friends, living and working in New York. It’s really funny, and just like the previous one, you can’t help but fall in love with each and every single character. It’s interesting and light, so you don’t end up feeling tired after watching it. I feel like everyone knows or have watched this show, so I won’t waste your time talking about it too much. It’s great, it’s funny, it’s relatable and you should definitely watch it if you haven’t πŸ™‚

And that’s it for today’s blog!

My Favorite albums- 2020

Hello world, and welcome to blogmas day fifteen!

“Cause when you’re fifteen….” Hey guys! hello again. I hope that you’re all doing well. As 2021 is getting closer, I decided to write a blog in which I introduce you to some of my favorite albums from this current year. I believe that music can be quite intimate, as we usually listen to stuff that we relate to in some kind of way. I mean, you can tell a lot about a person by listening to their favorite songs. So I guess that in today’s post you’ll get to know me better, in that way! Let me know if you like any of these albums in the comments- I’d love to be your friend, and it’ll be cool if we like the same stuff! If not, then let me know what are some of your favorite albums, as I’d like to get to know you guys better as well πŸ™‚

Taylor Swift

okay so I’m sure that I made it pretty clear in the past that I’m a swiftie. Actually, Taylor ended up being my favorite artist on Spotify. I think that I will just talk about all of her favorite albums of mine this year together. So the Taylor Swift album that were my favorite this year were folklore, of course, reputation and Speak Now. I have listened to all of her albums, but these ones were my favorite.

In folklore, which is maybe (I can’t decide) my favorite album of hers, my favorite song is august. It ended up being my most listen-to song. Honestly, it’s so cute and relatable πŸ₯Ί I love everything about it. I also like the songs mirrorball, peace, the lakes and betty. Though they all are my favorite, there are no skips on this album. In reputation I’ve mostly listened to Don’t Blame Me, I Did Something Bad, Dancing With Our Hands Tied, Delicate and …Ready For It? (once again though, I love them all). I like how folklore makes you feel like an old woman drinking tea by an open window, while reputation makes you feel like a young, evil queen dancing in the rain.

In Speak Now, my favorite songs are (and were this year) Speak Now, Dear John, Better Than Revenge and Long Live. I’ve only lately started to listen to Taylor’s older albums, and I can’t say that I’m disappointed. The vibes this album gives me is a young girl who just finished high school talking about her experiences within it. And yup, that’s just where I am in life, so maybe that’s why I feel like I can relate to her older songs, and this album especially.

Harry Styles

Once again, as I’ve been listening to both of Harry’s albums, I’ll talk about them together πŸ™‚ I’ve always knew who Harry was, and I kind of liked One Direction back in the day, but it was only this year that I’ve actually started to really listen and like his songs and albums.

In Harry Styles, his self-titled album, my favorite songs this year were Sign Of The Times, Two ghosts, Sweet Creature and Kiwi. I feel like this album can be divided to two- some of the songs make you feel like a deep, lonely person who’s walking outside quietly on an empty street. The other part makes you feel like a badass, lead singer in a rock band. Or at least that’s what I think.

Fine Line is a bit harder to divide, as each song is really different with a different vibe. You can sense some songs that were written about a break up- some happier, and some sadder. There are songs about love, self acceptance… Watermelon sugar… you know. All the feels. My favorite songs from the album this year were Golden, Cherry, Falling, She and Treat People With Kindness. But again, no skips. Love this album to the moon and the Saturn.

Spirit Orb- Chloe Moriondo

This is actually an EP, and not an album, but I definitely listened to this one a lot so I decided to share. I’m not gonna tell you my favorite songs off this EP, as there are only four songs, but I will say how awesome they all are. I love how each song is so very different from the other, but yet somehow they all give the same vibe and feeling. I relate to literally every single song, so I feel understood when listening to this EP. I also play the ukulele, so I love to play and sing along to the songs! This EP is awesome, and I would for sure recommend it to literally anyone, but especially to the younger people who feel alone in their world.

the masquerade- mxmtoon

Haven’t listened to this one in some time, but it’s so nice and great. Just like Chloe’s EP, this album was one that I’ve listen to during the beginning of the year mostly, but I felt super understood while doing so. My favorite songs from this album are probably unspoken words, suffice, blame game, high & dry, my ted talk and dream of you (almost all of them oops. I truly love everything, those are just the ones that I’ve listened to non-stop). Honestly I feel like Maia literally wrote these songs about me. I relate to every single one! You should definitely check the masquerade now if you enjoy soft, bedroom pop. It’s really so good.

And that’s it for today’s blog!

I don’t really know what else to add. Those were my most listened to albums! I also loved Ariana Grande’s new album, but I haven’t included it in the blog as I didn’t listen to it as much. But yes πŸ™‚ Thank you so much for reading my post, I truly appreciate that. Stick around to read previous posts if you’d like, and follow for future #blogmas posts! Let me know what are your favorite albums in the comments! Take care of yourself, and make sure to drink a ton of water and eat! You deserve it. Love you <33 See you tomorrow!

Records & A Book Haul

Hello World, and welcome to blogmas day fourteen!

How have you all been? Since yesterday I had time to visit my friend, and we really had a blast talking, listen to music and watch some episodes of How I Met You Mother. But anyway… A few days ago I uploaded the fun day in Tel Aviv blog, in which I told you that I bought a few new records and a book. So in today’s blog I thought that it would be cool to post a haul of what I got! I’m already gonna say this, if you’re here for the book then just know that there’s only one πŸ™‚ I couldn’t find anything else that I liked. So yeah lol let’s just go right into it, starting with the records as I bought them first :))

Ed Sheeran – Γ—

This record is probably my favorite Ed Sheeran album, I’ve listen to it so many times back in 2017-18. It was the first album that I recognized in the store, so my mum was kind enough to get it for me. I like how the record looks, and I would definitely recommend it.

You can get this record right here if you’d like!

Michael Jackson- Bad

My favorite MJ album! It’s a used one, but honestly it works fine and I love it. My favorite songs from this record are probably “Man In The Mirror”, “Smooth Criminal” and “The Way You Make Me Feel”. But really all of the songs are awesome. I would really recommend it, especially if you like old kind of pop!

You can get this record right here if you’d like!

Ariana Grande- Yours Truly

Again, probably my favorite album from this artist! I also love TUN, but I got excited that I could find an older album! I could buy TUN from her website any day, but YT is a little bit harder to find I think. Anyway, I love this record and the songs on this album, would 10/10 recommend. While listening to it again I realized how similar to Mariah Carey Ariana Grande sounds.

You can get this record right here if you’d like!

Dan Brown- Angels and Demons

And lastly, the book! I randomly found this book in an old shop, and decided to get it. I heard so much good feedback about Brown’s work so I’m excited to check it out. I’m planning to finish reading Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets today so I’ll start reading this book soon! I’ll tell you what I think about it once I’m done. If you’ve read it, let me know what you thought about it!

You can get this book right here if you’d like!

And that’s about it for today! This is the second book- related blog this blogmas, and what about it. I hope that you enjoyed reading this, and I’d like to thank you for doing so. Stick around if you’d like to see previous posts of mine, and follow for future blogmas posts! Take care of yourself! See you tomorrow.

Top 5 Books That I’ve Read During 2020

Hello world, and welcome to blogmas day thirteen! πŸ‚

How are you all? I hope that you’re doing well! Not a lot changed since yesterday- I posted blogmas day twelve kind of late, so ever since then I had time to take my dog out, eat breakfast and shower lmao. And here I am, writing this πŸ™‚ I love reading books so much, so I figure that making a blog dedicated to books will be a good idea. 2020 has been a rough year, physically for some people, and mentally for others. I know many people that dealt with quarantine differently- some watched TV, others saw movies, read books or listened to music. Sadly I barely read during lockdown, partly because I was so mentally exhausted everyday, and partly because I just wasn’t in the mood to deal with characters’ lives and worlds, when I could barely figure out what’s going on in my own. But even though I didn’t read as much as I would’ve liked to, I have read some books, and here are my top 5, in no particular order.

1. Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone by J.K. Rowling

So this one is kind of a classic that I’ve read twice this year. It’s really festive, cozy and comforting. I love the Harry Potter series, and I really recommend it if you’re looking for something nice to read. In case you’ve been living under a rock, here’s a short recap for you- The book is following Harry Potter, who lives with his awful aunt, uncle and cousin. On his 11th birthday, Harry finds out that he’s a wizard, and not just any wizard, but the only one who survived a killing curse. Harry starts to go to Hogwarts- the school for wizards and witches. Along with his friends, Ron and Hermione, Harry finds out that something strange is up at Hogwarts. Together, they figure out the troubles and face a one of the strongest wizard in the wizarding world.

You can get Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone right here!

2. My Favorite Murder- Stay Sexy and Don’t Get Murdered by Karen Kilgariff & Georgia Hardstark

Even though I didn’t include it in my podcast recommendations post, My Favorite Murder is one of my favorite podcasts! I especially listened to it in the beginning of the year, so I got super excited when I found out that they wrote a book! My Favorite Murder is a crime podcast, but in their book Karen and Georgia tell real stories from their life, each of them ending with a life lesson. I really enjoyed reading their book, and might even read it again in 2021! I would recommend reading this book even if you haven’t listened to too many episodes of MFM, or even if you don’t really like true crime that much. The stories are really interesting and inspiring! I loved it <33

You can get My Favorite Murder- Stay Sexy and Don’t Get Murdered right here!

3. Twilight by Stephenie Meyer

Twilight is another classic, honestly. I know that many people have mixed feelings about this book series, but I personally think that it’s quite nostalgic and cozy in a way. I read this book in Hebrew, so that’s why it’s in Hebrew in the picture. This book follows Bella Swan, who moves to live in Forks with her father. She falls in love with a guy named Edward Cullen from her biology class. However, she soon finds out that maybe Edward isn’t as normal as she thinks he is… This book is really cute and romantic, and I would recommend it if you’re looking for a new series to dive into :))

You can get Twilight right here!

4. Midnight Sun by Stephenie Meyer

The same book as Twilight, except from Edward’s point of view. I don’t think that I’ll speak too much about it, as I previously wrote a whole review on the book! You can read it here if you’d like. If not, let me just say that it’s such a great book, especially if you liked Twilight. You get to learn so much more about the characters and about Edward and his thoughts. But anyway, great book. Would rate 10/10 no doubt.

You can get Midnight Sun right here!

5. Me Before You by Jojo Moyes

Okayy so this last one is definitely one of the best books I’ve ever read. It literally broke me. Not kidding. I had to rearange my entire room after reading it, cause I just couldn’t stand being trapped in there anymore. I’m not even gonna give you a short recap because I’ll start to cry. If you love romance- READ IT. It’s so damn good. Just trust me.

You can get Me Before You right here!

AND THAT’S IT FOR TODAY!

Thank you so much for choosing to spend your time reading my blog. I hope that you’ll give any of the books a read- they’re really good, trust me! Let me know which are your favorite books? Especially ones that you’ve read in 2020. Follow if you’d like to see future blogmas, and stick around to read previous posts! Take care of yourself, it’s super important! See you tomorrow, hopefully!
